Several county Farm Bureaus were recognized for excellence during the Oklahoma Farm Bureau 74th Annual Meeting Nov. 13 in Oklahoma City.
“Our county Farm Bureaus are the heart of our organization,” said Tom Buchanan, OKFB president. “The work they do serving our members in all 77 counties is the key to our success as an organization.”
Each year, OKFB recognizes the county Farm Bureaus that have excelled in program areas such as membership, program planning, policy development, policy execution, information and public affairs, political education, women’s activities and Young Farmers and Ranchers with a Presidential Star Award.
Alfalfa County, Comanche County and Seminole County each received the Six Star Award for excelling in six program areas.
Receiving the Five Star Award were: Creek County, Garfield County, Grant County, Kingfisher County, Kiowa County, Major County, Noble County, Nowata County, Okfuskee County, Payne County and Pontotoc County.
Four Star Awards were presented to: Caddo County, Cotton County, Garvin County, Haskell County, Latimer County, Sequoyah County, Stephens County and Tulsa County.
Three Star Awards were presented to: Canadian County, Cherokee County, Muskogee County, Oklahoma County, Okmulgee County, Pottawatomie County, Texas County and Woods County.
OKFB also recognized the county Farm Bureaus that reached their membership quotas: Alfalfa County, Beaver County, Cotton County, Ellis County, Garfield County, Haskell County, Latimer County, Major County, Noble County, Okfuskee County and Roger Mills County.
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Annual Meeting is the organization’s largest gathering of farmers and ranchers every year. At the event, members vote on grassroots policy, elect leaders and award outstanding individuals.
